When does the IslandDAO event take place?
IslandDAO residencies are planned on a rolling basis and may occur at different points throughout the year. For updates on the next event, visit our website or follow the IslandDAO X account:
How long should I plan to stay?
The residency runs for a full month. Many citizens join for the entire duration, and most people who stay for only a week say they wish they had stayed longer.
You’re free to choose the length of stay that fits your life, as long as it falls within the event dates.
What is a typical day like?
Every day is different — the schedule evolves based on energy, participation, and workshops offered by founders, protocol teams, and residents.
You can expect:
- Workshops & protocol deep-dives
- Coworking and deep focus time
- Side events and wellness
- Networking and IRL collaboration

Is the villa open 24/7 for coworking?
No. The villa is typically open for coworking Monday–Friday, 09:00–19:00. It’s also home for organizers and some team members, so it cannot stay open 24/7.
If you plan to work late or early, we recommend:
- Booking accommodation with strong Wi-Fi
- Using cafés or nearby coworking spaces on evenings or weekends
What happens on weekends?
Weekends are intentionally unstructured. Build, explore, rest — or join the official IslandDAO side event planned each week.
Side events from past residencies have included:
- Beach days & mixers
- Boat trips & island excursions
- Jet skis, ATVs, and adventure activities
- Community-organized coworking and dinners
How can I host an IslandDAO experience?
IslandDAO is expanding as a distributed network state, and we welcome proposals for new residency locations.
