How to Join / Becoming a Citizen

IslandDAO citizenship is verified entirely on-chain. Owning a Gen1 or Gen2 NFT grants you full access to the DAO’s private Discord server and makes you an active participant in all IslandDAO verticals — from governance and community initiatives to real-life events and collaborations. Citizens are not passive members; they are decision-makers shaping the direction of the DAO through decentralized, on-chain voting.

1. Gen 1 NFT 🧬

The original Gen 1 NFT collection consists of 100 NFTs, representing the founding citizens of IslandDAO. Holding a Gen1 NFT automatically grants you the “Gen1” role in Discord, unlocking full access to all community channels and initiatives.

Key Benefits

  • Royalties share: 50% of all royalties from Gen2 NFT sales are distributed collectively among Gen1 holders.
    Once total royalties reach at least 10 SOL (≈ 0.1 SOL per NFT), that amount is automatically distributed to all Gen1 wallets.

2. Gen 2 NFT 🏝️

The Gen 2 collection expands IslandDAO’s citizenship with 3,336 pixel-art NFTs, each representing one of twelve animals — and each animal comes with a unique PERK tied to the community, events, or governance.

Holding a Gen2 NFT gives you the “Gen2” role in Discord, granting the same full-access privileges as Gen 1 citizens plus some more!

  • Event passport: A Gen 2 NFT is required to apply for and attend IslandDAO’s month-long co-living and co-working events!
  • Dynamic Perks: Vote on DAO proposals and help decide how each animal’s PERK evolves over time. All perks are community-driven, citizens can propose changes or new ideas through DAO voting, keeping power in the hands of the collective.
